Houses & Trees! Oh My!
June 22, 2013 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
$55Learn how to make houses and trees for your quilts — without patterns or templates! Using a child’s drawings as inspiration, you will learn how to create quilt blocks featuring houses and trees — imaginary and wonky or rooted in real house design. Each student can anticipate finishing at least one complete block during the class.
Lynne learned to sew in fifth grade and made her first quilt in college. Lynne is a former juried member of both the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and the New Hampshire Artists Association, where she won numerous awards. She taught Drawing and Oil Painting at the Manchester Institute of Arts and Sciences for over 10 years.
Trained as an artist, Lynne loves working with abstract shapes and color. She loves strip piecing and the graphic quality of quilts. Lynne makes art quilts and is an active member of the online quilt blogging community. Her blog, The Patchery Menagerie, can be found at http://patcherymenagerie.blogspot.com. Lynne has been making free-pieced letters for over 3-1/2 years. Her original quilt, Letters From Home, is featured in Tonya Ricucci’s book, Word Play Quilts.
Plan to join Lynne for a wonderful day filled with improvisational fun and creativity!
Students should have basic sewing and piecing experience.
