On January 3, 2024, Quilted Threads launches a six-month mystery quilt program that runs through June 2024. We hope you will come along with us to follow the trail of monthly clues.
What’s a Mystery Quilt?
With a mystery quilt project, participants make a quilt top without knowing at the start what the finished quilt will look like. Participants receive initial instructions so that they can select fabrics they want to use in the project. Each month after that, they visit the shop to pick up a clue, namely, the instructions for completing some of the steps of the project. If they keep up each month, by the end of the program, they’ll have solved the mystery – which means they’ll have finished quilt top!
What We Can Tell You
- We chose a mystery program designed by mystery quilt designer extraordinaire, Debbie Caffrey of Debbie’s Creative Moments.
- The finished quilt is Full/Queen size. Participants need only basic rotary cutting and machine piecing skills to make the quilt top.
- The project calls for three fabrics, which each participant chooses themselves. Participants can purchase their fabrics at QT at a discounted price, or obtain them elsewhere.

Stop by the shop to register now. The registration fee is $35, due when you register. There are no additional charges to receive the six monthly clues.
- When you register, you’ll receive yardage information for the three fabrics required for this project.
- You receive 20% off full price fabrics purchased for your mystery quilt if you buy all three fabrics on the day that you register for the program..
Picking Up Monthly Clues
Clues are available to pick up during regular business hours from the 1st of each month, beginning in January 2024 through June 2024. Clues must be picked up in person at QT. We will not be mailing any clues.
- Pick up your clue each month, and you receive 15% off any regularly priced items you purchase during that visit.
- Another participant can pick up your clue for you, but you will not receive the 15% discount that month.
